Norway Veterinary Hospital is looking to bring on a rockstar Surgery Technician that can assist our Orthopedic and/or Dental departments!!!

Responsibilities:

  • Surgical prep, monitor, administer premeds, keep level plain of anesthesia during procedures, scrub in and assist with procedures
  • Perform all treatments for orthopedic/dental patients
    • Ensure patient records complete
    • Monitor kennel staff handling of patients
    • Best patient comfort/care
  • Communication of hospitalized patient’s owner with updates
    • On TGH day- schedule discharge time, and set expectations (reception will check you out, then we’ll go over instructions/meds, then we’ll set up s/r, then we’ll bring pet to you)
  • Take all client calls regarding well-being of current patients and patients that have had orthopedic/dental surgery at our hospital
  • Admit patients and ensure an estimate has been given
  • Discharge patients
  • You are expected to know the names of all in-hospital patients + procedure + status

Requirements:

  • Previous surgical and/or dental technician experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) desirable but not required
  • Genuinely enjoys working with animals
  • Must have a positive attitude and be a team player
