Shonan Beauty & Wellness is seeking an enthusiastic Surgical Tech who can also work as a Surgical Coordinator to join our team in Irvine.

The right candidate must be able to multi-task and have an upbeat and positive attitude.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provides exceptional customer service, interacts with patients during care in a compassionate and friendly manner. Prepares room in a timely manner with all anticipated instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment for each individual surgical procedure.
• Assists in positioning, prepping, and draping of patients for surgical procedures.
• Accurately completes operating room counts (instruments, sponges, needles); follows the proper procedure in the event of the incorrect count; reports all discrepancies to circulating RN and surgeon and/or corrects immediately.
• Carries out medical/surgical asepsis during treatments/procedures.
• Assists surgeon(s) as a scrub tech during procedures as assigned.
• Prepares charts for upcoming patients
• Provide comfort and support to patients when appropriate
• Assists with patient ambulation to restroom and discharge as requested
• Maintains readiness of O.R. for all procedures.
• Ensures the Operating Room is stocked and supplies are pulled for the day's cases
• Maintains cleanliness of O.R.
• Inventories O.R. supplies, orders, and stocks as needed
• Responsible for proper cleaning and sterilization of appropriate patient equipment.
• Coordinates daily workload to utilize time efficiently
• Performs services requiring technical or manual skills under the direction of circulating RN and/or physician.
• Checks all equipment/instruments needed, prior to each procedure to ensure proper functioning.
• Follows written procedures for steam sterilization; knows responsibilities and the necessity for chemical and biological monitoring.
• Completes documentation within the shift and meets current standards, policies, and procedures.
• Completes annual education requirements.
• Maintains regulatory requirements.
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
• Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
• Communicates the mission, ethics, and goals of the facility, as well as the focus statement of the department. Skills/Requirements
• Graduate of accredited surgical technology or military program required.
• Schedule patients using EMR
• Help the patient over the phone
• Replay email and phone calls

Requirements

• Current BLS certification preferred.
• Certification (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated expertise in continuous quality improvement, customer service, and team building needs of many different sub-specialties and procedures.
• Surgical Tech background required, prior surgical experience preferred * * Current CPR required & ACLS preferred * * Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. * * Knowledge of office procedures and office machines (i.e. computer, fax, copier, etc.). * * Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. * * Ability to communicate accurately and concisely. * * Excellent patient care, customer service, and interpersonal skills * * Demonstrated expertise in continuous quality improvement, customer service, and team building.
