Responsibilities:

You will posess the skills necessary to perform review and disposition of supplier First Article Inspection submissions for compliance to AS9102 standards, and will act as the liaison on customer CAR for supplier caused non-conformances

Responsible for the support evaluation of Product Trials with new/potential suppliers and will help track supplier quality performance measurements (i.e. scorecards) for site suppliers, as well as lead monthly site supplier performance review boards.

You will have the ability to manage Supplier Variance Request(s) and disposition workflow(s) and ensure the timely assessment of potential non-conforming products.

You will be responsible for supporting risk documentation review activities with site quality engineers, and ensuring that all supplier functional failure modes and/or pass through characteristics are addressed, while Implementing and developing mechanisms to monitor and identify negative supplier non conformance/performance trends.

You will have the experience to effectively lead Problem Solving, Failure Analysis, Corrective Action & Preventative Action activities with the Suppliers and promote a culture of structured problem solving, while ensuring the efficient and timely transfer of process knowledge from supplier project personnel.

You will assist in the consolidation of existing suppliers and recommendation of suppliers for P.O. award and develop and deploy Incoming Receiving Inspection plans for supplied products with site IRI team.

You will hone your ability to define DRS and Customer contract flow-down requirements to suppliers, and perform periodic audits of supplier’s conformance to requirement documents.

You will assist with the eeneration of statistical reports on inspection activities and results and consider financial impacts of supplier nonconformance to the operations and provides data to support recovery activities.

Will Actively deploy DRS Naval Power Systems defined Supplier Quality Procedures, and lead process and procedure reviews with site cross functional team members as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field and a minimum of 3+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experienced with ISO Standards, Statistics, Microsoft Office Programs
  • Ability to understand military specifications and to read blue prints with GD&T background
  • Experienced in problem solving with ability to provide training to suppliers as needed
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, communication and writing skills
  • Working knowledge of lean / six sigma methodology; green /black belt certification preferred.
  • Experienced in forming and leading cross-function teams.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and implement multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Must be US Citizen
