Bank of America Student Leaders will be paired with YMCA Personal virtually. Every effort will be made to match each student’s interest with a position that engages and expands the student’s overall YMCA experience. Student Interns will learn the YMCA’s rich history, its mission, and the values which impact our vision. They will understand the unique challenges of running a multi-million dollar non-profit efficiently while ensuring services are provided to those in need.

Essential Functions:

• • Learn the mission, vision and values of the YMCA of South Florida
  • Participate in substantive day-to-day operations of the organization. Include activities designed to develop leadership skills. This might include working with Directors of YMCA Youth Sports, Child Development, Summer Camp, Aquatics, Membership, and Wellness staff.
  • Position requires job shadowing, attending staff meetings, informational sessions, and specific projects or activities. May include greeting and interacting with members, volunteer with special events, providing program support, implementing new initiatives, input in social media campaigns, and assisting with marketing and communications activities.
  • Support the development of the YMCA of South Florida College Tour including school selection, budget development, and student recruitment.
  • Student Leaders participate in a range of activities that comprise the overall work of the organization. At a minimum of 7 hours of exposure in each of the following areas:
  • Board Leadership

  • Volunteer Coordination

  • Executive Leadership/ Management Routines

  • Program Execution

  • Fundraising/ Development/ Budgeting
  • Serve as role model for other youth.
  • Maintain excellent communication with Y staff and Director(s) regarding activities, whereabouts, or concerns.
  • Attend functions such as Family Center staff meetings and program events.
  • Complete administrative / clerical duties as assigned.
  • All other duties as assigned by Social Responsibility Director and/or Family Center Executive Director.

As a condition of employment, you will be required to submit to and satisfactorily clear a thorough Level II fingerprinting background screening and drug test.
