Structured Cabling Technician Job at ARK Systems
PROFILE:
We are seeking a Structured Wiring Installer to join ARK Systems. This position provides on-site management and supervision of turnkey installation projects which includes completion of projects on schedule, while meeting specifications and assuring customer satisfaction.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Supervises employees including job detail and performance issues.
- Manages materials and equipment on site.
- Manages, motivates and trains staff. Builds a team effort.
- Programming panels and systems, installation of system wiring, and terminating devices and panel wiring.
- Coordinating daily scheduling with the customer on-site.
- Daily communication with project manager.
- Maintaining drawings and/or schematics.
- Performing troubleshooting and service work.
- Truck inventory control.
- Conducts quality assurance.
- Timely completion of associated documentation.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Able to utilize a laptop computer w/Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PC Anywhere, system application software, etc.
- Ability to use test equipment, drills and other hand tools.
Education and Experience:
- Field installation practical experience with supervision of at least 1-6 other employees required
- Electronics, electrical or equivalent technical school training and 3-5 years of related industry
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to obtain Maryland and Virginia security technician license as required. Paid for by ARK.
Physical Requirements:
- Physically able to climb overhead or crawl under spaces to complete jobs
- Must be willing to work at heights
- Must be able to operate electrical tools
- Must be able to differentiate color coding of cables
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
