Job Description
Position location: Orlando, FL preference but will also consider Remote with the ability to travel to Orlando office as needed.
Purpose
The Strategic Fleet Manager ensures that all powered vehicles in CHEP-operated sites in the US (“the fleet”) are properly accounted for and that all vehicle data, operating costs, savings initiatives, and sustainability targets are properly tracked and reported.

Number of Countries: USA
Number of Locations: 75+ CHEP-Operated sites with one or more fleet vehicles
Number of vehicles: More than 350 fleet assets

Monthly fleet cost budget adherence
Fleet cost savings initiative targets
Published CHEP US sustainability targets
Major/Key Accountabilities
  • Develops a Fleet strategic plan to minimize vehicle total life operating costs.
  • Plans, coordinates, leads, and tracks the transfer, addition, retirement, or sale of any fleet asset while ensuring that the proper accounting procedures are followed.
  • In close coordination with the Operations Fleet Manager, consolidates and reports monthly cost summaries for the fleet and tracks progress against cost-savings and sustainability initiatives.
  • Plans and manages fleet replacement initiatives while adhering to casualty reserves and or other capital and expense budgets
  • Manages IOT monitoring systems for fleet assets and coordinates with Bramble IT for implementation and upgrades while serving as subject-matter-expert and trainer for the same.
  • Challenges/Problem Solving
  • Analyzing complex data from CHEP systems to determine opportunities for efficiencies
  • Managing multiple stakeholders to build consensus toward the optimal solution
  • Ability to quickly adjust priorities in response to changing conditions or priorities.

Essential Qualifications:
Associates degree
Desirable Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Experience
Experience developing and managing projects (cost, time, and deliverables)
Comfortable present complex concepts and plans effectively to senior leaders
Proven success in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and customers.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft office suite of application, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Skilled in the analysis of complex data to find underlying patterns and identifying areas for improvement
  • Ability to quickly develop proficiency in applications for the management of data in both data entry and custom reporting
