Strategic Account Executives….A wonderful Opportunity to Join Dialight and be instrumental in driving our top line sales revenue into the stratosphere, through strategic account development.

These newly created positions will report directly to our Director of Strategic Accounts with responsibility for driving business development at the corporate level, for several of our existing key account customers. Dialight has been in the lighting business for over 80 years. We are the world’s leader in lighting business technology with the largest number of Industrial LED based lights installed in the world. US Operations are headquartered in Farmingdale, NJ with more than 1,800 employees globally. We have manufacturing operations in the US, Mexico and Asia. We have sales operations in the Americas, EMEA, APAC regions and in Dubai.

The Opportunity

Over the past 80 years we have developed quite a following among the industrial giants including the likes of Cargill, Chevron, Exxon, International Paper, Boeing, Cooper Tire and among Steel producers, Power Generation, Oil and Gas, Mining…and the list goes on. Up until recently, we have utilized an approach from the ground up, calling directly on individual plants across the world. This method has proven to be a very effective approach and will continue to be, in the years ahead. Our Regional Sales Managers across the world are best in class as reported by our customers, distributors, and our rep agencies. Over the years, we have developed solid relationships with thousands of individual plant operations. In many cases, we have dozens of individual plants within the same company, as we have been referred to sister plants continually. Now is the time to effectively leverage these relationships at the corporate level in the all the vertical markets we serve.

Dialight is seeking knowledgeable executives to develop, evolve and implement a dynamic business development approach at the corporate level with target customers in several vertical markets in multiple locations. Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Strategic Accounts, the Strategic Accounts team and the entire Marketing and Sales leadership, the successful candidate will develop, evolve and implement Dialight’s Corporate Account Strategy at the C level within the industries and verticals we sell to. It is important to note that we have a very dynamic and successful marketing story here at Dialight titled “The Dialight Difference”. We also have a strategic, forward focused new product development portfolio that will continue to evolve to assure we remain best in class in lighting for all the verticals we serve.

Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate has experience calling on and selling LED based luminaires to industries that require harsh and hazardous ratings. We seek an individual who has experience going to market through Factory Representatives, Distribution, ESCO’s and Contractors.

Our primary customers would include those involved in vertical markets such as oil & gas, metals and mining, power generation, pulp and paper, food production and grain processing, automotive, petrochemical and chemical, water/wastewater, aviation and aerospace, etc. Our target customer base includes companies like Cargill, Cleveland Cliffs, Dow/DuPont, Duke Energy, Goodyear/Cooper Tire, International Paper, Marathon Petroleum, Nestle, US Steel, etc. Previous experience working for Holophane, Crouse Hinds, Appleton or other industrial lighting companies who call on, or represent these industries with harsh and hazardous applications is ideal. Individuals who have strategic account experience representing other product categories, like plumbing, heating, and air conditioning, also very desirable.

Primary Purpose

The profitable development, expansion, growth, and daily management of strategic accounts within specified industry market verticals across the Americas in line with company expectations

Key Responsibilities

Develop, propose, implement, and manage a sales strategy and tactical action plan, for selected target key accounts within specified market verticals across the territory. Including:

Identifying and undertaking due diligence to define and prioritize target accounts

Tactical sales plans, initiatives and actions required for growth at assigned accounts

Marketing plans, initiatives and actions consistent with Dialight standards, targeted to assigned market vertical

Sales forecasts and budget preparation for assigned accounts

Build effective and long term relationships with the target accounts at every key decision and influencing point and importantly at the most senior of levels of management Drive ‘Specification Lock’ on Dialight products and generate/influence customer lighting standards where possible

Negotiation of supply agreements to mitigate financial risk and liability to Dialight Negotiate and manage all national or super regional SPA agreements for assigned accounts

Coordinate and supply competitive price levels on national MRO bids to buying groups and national account managers from distribution

Promote Dialight at national buying groups and coordinate efforts with these groups as needed to promote and position the Dialight solution at the end user

Qualifications

Our verticals include Food and Beverage, Power Generation, Chemical/Petrochemical, Oil and Gas, Mining, Waste Treatment, Aviation, Automotive and industrial manufacturing. Specific experience calling on any of these industries will be very helpful in understanding our vertical markets, the executives in them and their way of doing business. Our ideal candidate has a treasure chest full of contacts and has developed solid relationships, over a period of years, with them.

Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree desirable) in a technical, finance or business curriculum

12+ year’s progressive experience in Business Development, with six or more years of experience in the lighting industry, calling on executives and C suite executives

Experience in selling lighting products in the heavy industrial marketplace

Experience working with National and Strategic Account Professionals and Corporate C level relationships

Technical understanding of industrial electrical products, electrical distribution, and lighting systems

Electrical industry experience and high levels of commercial awareness with an ability to prioritise, improvise and negotiate commercial agreements

Highly developed organizational, presentation and negotiating skills

Ability to communicate and build/maintain lasting relationships with customers at all levels

Willingness to travel nationally and occasionally internationally at short notice, if required

Possess ownership, accountability, ethics, pace, personal motivation, passion, energy, resilience, tenacity, and collaborative in approach

Strategic and analytical in thought process with the ability to understand the effects of macro and microenvironment and events that influence business growth
