Sterile Processing Tech Job at The Vancouver Clinic

Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including two doses of a 2-dose series or a single dose of a 1-dose series prior to start date. Fully vaccinated is defined as 14 days post series completion date.
We are seeking Certified Sterile Processing Techs for our new state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center (ASC)!
Schedule: Monday - Friday 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM
Decontamination, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of all basic and specialized complex instrumentation, and troubleshoots equipment or product failure.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Collecting, cleaning, decontaminating, disinfecting and/or sterilizing surgical instruments,
  • Prepare and assemble trays and packs according to provider preference, and equipment requirements based on scheduled procedures and established standards to ensure sterile and functioning supply of materials and equipment.
  • Identifies and addresses issues that might affect daily and future efficiency patient flow and/or patient safety.
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with physicians, ASC staff and personnel in other departments. Works in collaboration with all ASC team members.
  • Instrument maintenance – recognizes failing or damaged instrumentation, keeps instruments in prime operating condition.
  • Equipment maintenance – assists with equipment maintenance within SPD including manufacturer recommendations and compliance with scheduled PMs.
  • Maintains current knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards for SPD including but not limited to CMS, AAAHC, IAHCSMM. Applies best practices accordingly.
  • Works with Lead in maintaining adequate supply, repair, and purchase of new instruments.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Min of one year experience as a Sterile Processing Technician in an acute care hospital or ambulatory surgery center, operating sterilizing equipment and cleaning surgical instruments and equipment required.
  • Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician required from one of the following: The International Association of Health Care Services Material Management (IAHCSMM) OR the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).
