WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

§ High School diploma or GED from and accredited institution

§ Maintains familiarity with and complies with all compliance organizations (Joint Commission, HRSA, OSAP, ANSI etc.)

§ Follows all internal control plans (Infection Control etc.)

§ Certification to perform cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for the Health Care Professional (CPR) and AED through courses that follow the guidelines from the American Heart Association and Red Cross (cognitive and skills evaluations)

§ Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety for all specialty behavioral health locations

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

§ · Ensures instruments are sterilized as soon as feasible when received into sterilization to not impact patient care.

§ Decontaminates and sterilizes instruments and equipment and assemble, packages, and sterilizes trays of instruments.

§ Follows proper standard precautions while in decontamination and sterilization areas

§ Understands and follows all manufacturer instructions for use

§ Performs and monitors biological spore testing to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments.

§ Remains current on all standards of practice for sterilization

§ Identifies and verifies that all equipment is functioning properly, and the integrity is not compromised

§ Maintains a clean environment

§ Uses all appropriate personal protective equipment

§ Follows all relevant policies and procedures

§ Performs all necessary quality control checks

§ Working knowledge of all solutions, supplies and equipment cleaning and maintenance

§ Can operate the following equipment

§ Ultrasonic

§ Sterilizer

§ Dental lubrication systems

§ Biological incubator
