Staffing and Retention Specialist (Taco Bell of Alaska)-

Our Management Team is seeking a Recruiting Rock Star who knows just how to ring in the right bells, develop talent pipelines, and ensure hiring managers have the instruments they need to build Rockstars everywhere.


Our Staffing and Retention Specialist will have a chance of a lifetime as a key player to developing our Recruiting and Training efforts. This position is new and the person who is hired must be a highly motivated trail-blazer who is ready to rock the market.


Work Location:
Based in Anchorage, Alaska with frequent travel to company locations within Alaska.


THE JOB:

  • Collaborate with management and operation teams to assess current and future workforce needs, develop effective strategies for candidate pools.
  • Execute identified strategies and engage potential candidates from various sources such as: Social Media, Job Fairs, Networking, Hiring Events, and Competitive Intelligence.
  • Coordinate applications and interviews for hiring managers throughout 15 locations in Alaska using our online onboarding application.
  • Establish and maintain a local employment brand presence.
  • Develop and maintain recruiting material.
  • Track and report on job openings and hiring statuses.
  • The position is based out of Anchorage, Alaksa.
  • Travel to various communities throughout the state of Alaska to participate in hiring events, interviews, and new hire onboarding.


Staffing
-

  • Assist with meeting restaurant staffing goals and improving employee retention.
  • Oversee and manage job applications to ensure that all applicants are contacted, interviewed, hired, and verify the applicants status.
  • Oversee all other applicant systems to ensure all restaurant applicants are contacted.
  • Assist in the applicant interview process as needed including scheduling phone screens, initial interviews, and hiring process.
  • Plan and manage Hiring Parties inside the restaurant and hiring events in other venues.
  • Source management candidates outside of the direct application process.
  • Meet with RGMs on a period basis, at a minimum, to understand hiring needs, open positions, shifts, days of week, etc.


Training
-

  • Help schedule and ensure each new hires Day One of work is successful and is executed to our standard.
  • Oversee each New Hires training is on schedule and meets our training standards.
  • Assist in the training of dedicated activities such as Experience training, shift lead classes, RGM meetings, etc.
  • Goal of becoming a training Facilitator for company.


Retention
-

  • Follow up with new hires throughout their first 90 days at critical checkpoints: one week, 30, 60 and 90 days.
  • Ensure these checkpoints are acknowledge on the restaurant level in person and on Crew.
  • Monitor and engage on the online messaging applications.
  • Oversee to help ensure all retention forms are completed timely.
  • Conduct exit interviews with the objective of improved awareness about why employees leave our company as a means for improving employee retention where possible


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School or equivalent education
  • Two (2) years Recruitment or Human Resource Support experience.
  • Additional education may be substituted for experience
  • Preference will be given to those individuals who have experience supporting the hiring process of a Quick Service Industry business.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable speaking in groups
  • Must understand creative needs for advertising.
  • Must be able to work independently and free of direct supervision while making consistently sound decisions.
  • Must have basic computer skills and working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have an Alaska Driving license, acceptable driving record, and the ability to get to various work locations.

Starting Wage: $25/hour DOE

This position is hourly, pay depends on experience, and may be based out of either the Restaurant Support Center office or within various restaurant locations as needed. The Staffing and Retention Specialist is responsible for anticipating and responding to the mutual needs of the President and Sr. Vice President, Operations while creating and enforcing actionable plans to recruit, retain, and train our restaurant teams.
