As a Staff Backend Engineer at Alfred, you will lead the Core team, which focuses on designing the core data-models, ERP integrations, and analytics integrations. You will lead a complete rewrite of our current ERP integrations using GoLang, design the corresponding data-models, apply Agile methodologies in the team, work with stakeholders, and mentor team members.
You will potentially grow into a People Manager role as the team grows. This is a high visibility team as it plays a key role in business growth as we plan to onboard new buildings and new property management companies.
You will play a key role in our Engineering organization by applying and teaching best practices in building high-quality code, as well as set the tone for our future tech stack.

Who you are

• You have at least 5 years of experience as a Backend Engineer or in a similar role
• Strong familiarity and experience with data modeling
• An innate curiosity and an open mind. You're able to learn new tools and technologies quickly. Our stack includes: Typescript, Go, Python, Airflow, Postgres, MongoDB, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Empathy isn't just a word for you, it's a principle you live by and look to contribute actively where you work
• Looks proactively beyond the obvious for continuous improvement opportunities. Demonstrates analytical thinking - recommends improvements and uses data to prove/disprove them
• Able to complete and deliver feature or functionality independently and reliably

Preferred qualifications

• Extensive experience with in writing data-integrations
• Experience with GoLang, Postgres, and job scheduling systems
• Familiarity with GCP or AWS in a production environment
• Domain knowledge or prior experience in the Real Estate problem space
