The Finance-Accounting Team is a group of hardworking and dedicated team players who play a vital role in running the business finances, as well as ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. In this role, you will be exposed to and learn various functions of Accounting. This candidate must possess strong time management and analytical skills with high attention to detail. We need a team player with savvy communication abilities (verbal and written) and effective interpersonal skills. Strong technology skills are also critical for this position, particularly expertise with Microsoft Excel, as the candidate will be dealing with multiple projects using excel spreadsheets. The Staff Accountant will provide general accounting support, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliation. This position works closely with the Accounts Payable and Budget Team, internal departments, and external parties. Other job functions for this position includes:

  • Support day-to-day general accounting functions, including but not limited to recording disbursements, processing payments, and reconciling invoices.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries including key accruals, adjusting, and reclassification entries.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly disbursement statistics report.
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
  • Assist in annual financial audits
  • Provide meaningful insight to activity, trends, unusual and significant transactions
  • Provide recommendations to management regarding improvements to processes, productivity, internal controls, and accuracy
  • Enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
  • Assist in various ad-hoc projects and analyses
  • Perform any other project or task assigned by Management

  • Strong organization skills with an ability to prioritize and plan work activities, uses time efficiently, organizes or schedules other people and their tasks, in a fast-paced environment
  • Organizational support – ability to follow company policies and procedures in accordance with contract/agreement(s) and Company Goals, completes administrative tasks thoroughly, accurately, promptly, and efficiently as possible with respect to human resources, financial management and profitability.
  • Technical skills –constantly strives to increase technical knowledge to improve training tools through latest product knowledge, industry knowledge, and research.
  • Decision making – makes sound, well informed, fact-based decisions and seeks guidance when needed

This is what you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Advance level of knowledge of Microsoft Office with specific expertise in Excel
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently
  • High discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Regular, punctual, and consistent attendance
  • Must be able to work any shift and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary to meet the needs and goals of the business
