Responsible for analyzing and interpreting data, reviewing logistics processes and procedures, and providing logistics information to aid cost effective, efficient, timely and high-quality logistics solutions. Reviews and analyzes transportation costs. Ensures proper payment of freight accruals. Manage delivery route activity including invoicing and shipment tracing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provides operational support for private rail fleet of approximately 2,000 railcars. Provides railcar tracking, expediting and diversion support for railcar fleet. Reviews payment batches and resubmits bills exceeding established tolerance level to Distribution Data, Inc. Maintains Bourque system (or other systems as determined by company) by eliminating errors, implementing rates and ensuring accuracy of data in the Bourque system.

Secures freight rates from truck transportation carriers as required. Responsible for maintaining network of truck carriers. Arranges emergency truck from terminals as required. Maintains contact with various transportation carriers to resolve billing differences and to clear balance due items. Analyze reasons for late or delayed shipments and report cost and inventory impact to Customer Service. Reconciles freight accruals with freight payments and initiates applicable claims. Reviews inbound DVW freight bills for duplicate payments/accruals.

Investigate delivery claims and customer complaints to address delivery failures. Files carrier claims as required. Coordinates with Accounting regarding freight accrual adjustments or changes. Responds to Customer Service regarding freight invoicing problems.

Coordinates freight bill files to ensure bills are available for outside audit and then retained as required by statute. Performs special assignments as required by department management. Maintains bond information for TCNA and TCSAP export shipments. Prepares monthly and ad-hoc transportation reports for management.Assists Manager-Logistics in creating reports for KPI, shipping routes, cost analysis and other Supply Chain reporting. Maintain trucking & terminal service performance data. Collect, interpret, and analyzes various types of logistics data related to distribution and supply chain management. Daily management of 3rd party distribution locations. Occasional travel to audit and inspect 3rd party distribution terminals.

Qualifications:
Strong analytical skills to interpret date and metrics. In-depth knowledge of rail, trucking & terminal activities and problem-solving skills, effective oral communication skills to collaborate with all levels of the organization

Familiarity with logistics tracking software, spreadsheets, business software packages primarily Microsoft Office and SAP Multitasking skills to quickly switch from one task to another when required

Education and/or Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience with logistics analysis and managerial responsibilities in the transportation field with particular exposure to bulk rail, truck and marine modes.

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
