Sr. HR Generalist

Specifically, this position is instrumental in supporting enhancement of employee skills, performance, and job satisfaction. The candidate will also support our goal to attract, retain and develop high performing associates; and provide services and information to employees and management regarding recruiting, on-boarding payroll, attendance, performance management, employee relations, and benefits; acting intermediary between plant and corporate.

Primary Responsibilities:

Ø Designs and administers human resources policies and procedures and prepares internal employee communications regarding compensation, benefits, or other company policies and manages the day-to-day HR activities for the company.

Ø Administers various Human Resource plans, maintains employee online handbook policies and procedures. Collects, analyzes, and utilizes HR data related to compensation, benefits, training, recruitment, etc. to determine improvements and give guidance to management.

Ø Handles employee relations situations and counseling, exit interviews.

Ø Helps guide Performance Management partnering with leaders and associates to move towards sustainable high performance. Overseeing performance reviews; Partners with supervisors regarding PM review guidance, administration of the process and monitoring status; ensuring timeliness of process for all employees and ensuring proper file updates and adjustments through the HRIS and payroll programs; monitoring the consistency of reviews among various managers to ensure internal equity.

Ø Provide Learning and Development Support of associates to meet the needs of the organizational : Ensuring employee has information and resources needed to enhance and/or improve job performance; researching internal and external solutions to align employees’ knowledge, skills, and abilities with corporate and position specific expectations; working with management to provide project learning, cross-training, and job enhancement opportunities; supporting succession planning initiatives by promoting a culture of learning.

Ø Recruits high performing and diverse associates by working with management to evaluate plant structure efficiency, numbers needed in various positions, and ensuring the right people are in the right role; by changing job responsibilities to meet immediate and long-term goals; by seeking new hires: obtaining budget approval, placing ads, coordinating needs with temporary placement agencies, reviewing resumes, interviewing applicants conducting background checks, making formal offer.

Ø Provides employee relations excellence by assisting in conflict resolution processes, listening and clarifying employee and management needs, and providing options for resolution; creating fair and consistent workplace; by coordinating safety and health initiatives, company parties, and other employee activities. Sharing information and coaching associates.

Ø Welcomes new employees by initiating onboarding which includes, processing new-hire payroll, HR, attendance, and benefit paperwork. Assists new and current employees by processing changes of information and initiating benefit enrollments and changes.

Ø Informs employees and expedites delivery of benefits by explaining various programs, resolving employees’ questions and problems by researching policies and regulatory requirements, providing answers in a timely manner, ensuring a timely, complete communication process for all employees; processing benefit claims and resolving discrepancies; administering open enrollment.

Ø Ensures regulatory requirements by monitoring and updating required posters and regulatory communications; by administering FMLA, COBRA, HIPPA,

Ø Processes payroll by tabulating hours worked; maintaining records of hours, sick, lateness, vacation and holiday usage; forwarding accurate pay data to Keystone.

Ø Maintains attendance programs by ensuring attendance programs adhere to company policies and uniform practices are applied; monitoring attendance records including: various paid and unpaid leaves (sick, vacation, FMLA, STD, LTD), informing employees of their rights and benefits, and advising employees and management of individual’s status; initiating and documenting corrective actions in conjunction with attendance policies

Ø Maintains and secures all HR, Payroll, Benefit and Attendance Database Files by ensuring that all necessary information is entered correctly, in a timely manner, and updated as needed; preparing related reports; ensures confidentially is maintained.

Ø Processes worker’s compensation claims and unemployment claims by preparing paperwork, coordinating appointments with appropriate agency or vendor, recording information in logs and files, acting as intermediary between employees and external agencies, representing company at meetings and hearings.

Job Specifications:

Requirements/Skill levels:

· Education/Experience- BS/BA or experience equivalent; minimum of 7 yrs. as HR generalist (Manufacturing Environment preferred) MBA business, HR, OD; and/or SHRM/PHR preferred; current knowledge of NY state law; proven success in interfacing with a diverse group of people and departments, and collegial, open workplace.

· Computer literacy – Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Good knowledge of basic software applications such as Outlook, Recruiting Systems, spreadsheets, databases, and HRIS systems.

· Competencies– Must have excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, Internal Customer Focus, Quality Focus, and detail oriented. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
