Summary:
This position is responsible for all aspects of manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, and the production of Pacira’s iovera products. This includes the leadership of all in-house operations as well as additional offsite manufacturing locations. While this is a management leadership position, the role requires both strategic and tactical capabilities to be successful within this dynamic environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Ensure manufacturing build plans are achieved such that both internal and external customer requirements are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Ownership of the operational management of manufacturing and production, including all iovera processes, equipment, tools/fixtures, documentation, and personnel.
  • Ownership of all manufacturing processes, process lines, documentation, and new product/process implementation at contract manufacturers.
  • Lead the planning and execution of new product transfers from development to manufacturing. Ensure design for manufacturability during the development phases.
  • Lead failure investigations to determine root cause of in-process failures; implement effective corrective and preventative actions.
  • Identify and lead manufacturing initiatives to reduce improve quality, labor efficiency, product reliability, and overall product cost.
  • Provide technical leadership to the supply chain, materials, and quality teams to resolve material and product non-conformances.
  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with Pacira’s Quality Systems.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This person will have direct supervisory responsibilities for manufacturing engineering and production
Interaction:

The incumbent works closely with various departments including Quality, Supply Chain, R&D, and Commercial.

Requirements:

Education and Experience
  • BS in an Engineering discipline required• A minimum of 10 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with mechanical, electrical, and process controls required
  • A minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing management role• A minimum of 3 years at the Director level managing engineering, manufacturing, materials, and supply logistics teams
  • Medical device experience strongly preferred• Experience working in an ISO13485 environment and representing manufacturing during internal and external compliance audits required
  • Experience working with quality management systems such as Agile or Mastercontrol required• Experience with technical and operational oversight of device contract manufacturing sites strongly preferred
  • Experience and working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to achieve manufacturing and production goals in a highly dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work collaboratively across all functional groups• Strong hands-on attitude and the willingness to spend significant time on the manufacturing floor is a must• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and manage various priorities, with the willingness to adapt quickly to changes• Lean and/or Six Sigma experience strongly preferred
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Powerpoint. MS Project and Visio preferred.

The base pay range for this role in California is $190,400 per year to $261,800 per year.

The range is what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. The range considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: geographic markets, business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications.
