EMS is seeking a talented Microsoft based SQL Developer with Business Intelligence experience for the production and maintenance of our internal business processes, portals, software tools, and data warehouse. The developer is responsible for backend design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of new as well as existing applications. They must have an ability to work with both internal and external customers to gather requirements, code, test, document and implement in a fast paced environment. They must also be able to work closely with team members utilizing written and verbal communication skills to improve overall performance of current procedures and document for business discussions as well as be able to function independently with a commitment to learning about our business in the finance and credit card industry.

Essential Functions:

• Assist in the creation of general system design and technical specifications for new/replacement/enhancement systems taking into consideration server capacity, limitations and system availability
• Apply coding and analytical skills for efficient queries
• Test, debug, support and maintain existing systems procedures, functions, and SSIS packages
• Accountable for the performance, accuracy, and functionality of SQL based queries
• Communicate effectively with managers to provide progress updates, roadblocks, and offer suggestions & solutions
• Analyze existing code to determine where problems may occur and develop possible solutions
• Analyze and document existing and proposed business processes and any related data driven processes
• Preparation of any proposed application functionality via wire-framing with pertinent styling and user functionality

Required:

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field
• Proficiency in creation and maintenance of SQL procedures, functions, indexing methodologies, and relational design

• 5+ years of professional experience in SQL based programming
• Demonstrated understanding of query analysis and tuning

• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, looking for problems to solve with minimal supervision

• Proficiency in designing and developing queries for data analysis and reporting to answer financial inquiries
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio (MVS) and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)

Preferred:

• Database administration experience, including backups, mirroring, transaction log shipping, and security
• Experience in the Financial industry and/or credit card processing
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics NAV
• Experience in the finance industry, in particular, credit and debit card processing; interchange and pricing models
