Sports Coordinator, CityParks Play Job at City Parks Foundation
POSITION SUMMARY
CPF is seeking to hire a Sports Coordinator to train and assist with the planning, administration and evaluation of all our citywide instructional programs, tournaments, leagues and special events. Additionally, the Sports Coordinator will help oversee the recruitment, hiring, onboarding and payroll processing for CityParks Play seasonal coaches from April - September. This position will report to the Associate Director of Sports.
RESPONSIBILITIES
General Duties:
Communicate with the public via phone and email to address questions regarding the CityParks Play programs
Cultivate relationships with day camps, community leaders and organizers throughout NYC to increase awareness about CPF?s Sports programs
Assist with sports equipment receiving and inventory (including transport of equipment to citywide sites when necessary)
Help coordinate the on-site distribution of City Parks Sports promotional materials at designated locations around NYC, including parks, recreations centers and, schools
Oversee court scheduling for CPF and public programs on Flushing Meadows tennis courts
Retrieve, record and help evaluate program participant data
Assist Director and Associate Director with special projects and sponsor research
Payroll Administration:
Work with the Associate Director of Sports and CPF?s HR/Finance team to interview, hire and on-board 100+ CityParks Play seasonal instructors and administrative staff (mainly in the spring)
Assist Associate Director and individual program directors with outreach and recruitment
Receive training from CPF HR to oversee the on-boarding process for CItyParks Play (hiring forms, documentation, etc.)
Serve as liaison between CityParks Play staff and the CPF HR/Finance team
Monitor and input all CityParks Play seasonal employees timesheets (late June - early September)
Respond to individual employee questions regarding payroll
