Purpose of the position

The purpose of the IT Workplace Services Specialist position is to:

  • Field incoming support requests from end users in a courteous manner.
  • Follow technical standards and ensure security policy alignment in all work activities.
  • Provide project support as required for Workplace Services supported areas.
  • Provide constructive feedback to team lead(s) and management regarding existing work processes and opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Provide Workplace support coverage during assigned work hours and physically in the office as required to support the Messer business.

Principal responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities of the IT Workplace Services Specialist include:

  • Respond to employee and contractor technical problems/issues related to supported hardware and software
    • I.e. hardware, software, network, printers, and scanners, for all internal on-site and remote personnel, and creating and maintaining system accounts, groups, and security permissions within Microsoft Active Directory (AD).
  • Setup and configure employee and contractor hardware using approved tools and processes.
    • Can include computers, printers, mobile devices, Augmented and Virtual Reality Devices, and associated accessories for these devices.
  • Assist in installation software on employee assigned devices.
  • Assist in maintaining Hardware and Software Inventory defined in Asset Tracking Software.
  • Resolve trouble tickets and service issues within desired SLA’s.
  • Field incoming support requests from end users in a courteous manner.
  • Perform desktop and mobile support on company approved devices, i.e. hardware, software, network, printers, and scanners, for all internal on-site and remote personnel, and creating and maintaining system accounts, groups, and security permissions within Microsoft Active Directory (AD).
  • Perform On-Boarding & Off-Boarding of all personnel with respect to deploying & recovering laptops and supporting IT peripheral equipment.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience and skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues with windows client systems and related hardware
  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager/SCCM experience
  • Microsoft Endpoint Manager/Intune experience
  • Microsoft Active Directory/Azure Active Directory experience
  • Proven experience of successfully working within a Global delivery model
  • Strong focus on customer service
  • Ability to work and communicate with all levels of employees

Required Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in IT related program, or equivalent experience
  • Years / Type: Minimum: 3 Years experience working in the IT systems infrastructure area supporting end user windows-based devices
  • Other qualifications
  • Ability to work and communicate with all levels of employees/management as well as external vendors, customers.
  • Language: English-Spoken/Written Mandatory.
