Our Video Remote Interpreters (VRI) facilitate communication and bridge cultural divides between healthcare providers and their Limited and Non-English Proficient Patients. Services are delivered via video phone to a nationwide client base. We have openings for Spanish Interpreters in our state-of-the-art call center which offers spacious workstations and several lounge areas for you to enjoy. We are seeking to fill for both FULL-TIME (Weekdays, Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm), or, PART-TIME Weekends (Saturday & Sunday 7 am - 4 pm).

What you will be doing as a Spanish Interpreter - VRI:

• Grasping ideas spoken and heard only once, then convey these ideas in a second language instantly, accurately, completely, and adhering to the style and intent of the speaker.
• Providing cultural frameworks as necessary, to bridge understanding between parties who do not share a common culture and language background.
• Maintaining confidentiality regarding personal or healthcare issues or any other information learned in an interpreting encounter as required by HIPAA.
• Troubleshooting technical issues including the Internet, phone, and headsets.
• Recording client and technical issues as directed.
• Providing stellar customer service to clients.
• Maintaining adequate productivity levels.
• Other duties as assigned

What we are looking for in a Spanish Interpreter - VRI:

• Fluently speak, read, and write in English and in Spanish
• Knowledge of anatomy, major body systems, and medical terminology in Spanish and English
• Demonstrated, exceptional communication skills which include conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively, and asking questions where clarification is needed
• Must successfully pass pre-screening test (unless certified by a recognized National Certification) and applicable background and drug screening tests
• Ability to professionally communicate with various diverse backgrounds and cultures
• Exhibit and maintain professional and ethical behavior at all times
• Work effectively with minimal supervision
• Ability to efficiently multi-task when work circumstances become fast-paced
• Willing to accept all manner of interpreting assignments

Skills needed in this role as a Spanish Interpreter - VRI:

• Comfortable using internet and technology
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Previous professional Interpreting training
• Knowledge of professional standards and protocols for Healthcare Interpreters

Requirements

• 1-year Interpreter experience + 40 Hours of Interpreting Training
• HS Diploma/GED (or higher preferred) or relevant educational experience
• Must pass written and oral national certification (CCHI) within one year of hire date. Please inquire as we provide financial assistance with this.
• Must be available during business hours
• Must successfully pass pre-screening test (unless certified by a recognized National Certification) and applicable background and drug screening tests
