SORTER I(WAREHOUSE CLOTHING SORTER, SHIFT - 07:00 AM -03:30 PM) Job at Rescue Mission Alliance of Syracuse NY
The Rescue Mission is currently seeking full time sorters for our warehouse. This position is responsible for assisting in all aspects of preparing donated merchandise for store deliveries, salvage, recycling, or waste. This position will sort clothing donations; hang, and ticket sell-able clothing donations, as well as sorting bin items and linens; and meet set quotas for the department while maintaining quality standards.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED certificate preferred
- Prior experience in a production warehouse or retail clothing setting preferred
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Needed to Perform Effectively in this Position:
- Interest in working with clothing and knowledge of clothing preferred
- Willingness to continue to learn new skills
- Ability to work in a changing environment – flexible to new assignments
- Passion for the mission and vision for the organization
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand for 8-hour shifts
- Ability to lift up to 30lbs
Additional Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Job requires lifting and bending
- Standing for long hours
- Cleaning is required
