GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Provides Social Service assistance to people seeking help with our programs including emergency assistance, seasonal assistance, summer day camp and other programs. Work collaboratively with other community agencies to assist clients. Administrative responsibilities such as answering phones, statistics, reports, correspondences, and other assigned tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Effectively administer assistance to individuals seeking help on a year round basis

2. Assist Corps Officers with administrative tasks that include but are not limited to: preparation of bills for Centralized Bookkeeping, completing various reports, answering DHQ report requests, entering donation statistics, preparing donation thank you letters and other tasks as directed.

3. Answering telephone, greeting & assisting visitors,

4. Record all assistance into the database program as well as ensuring Salvation Army statistics are properly recorded

5. Provide assistance to people in need according to Salvation Army policy and local corps policy a. Includes, but not limited to: food, clothing, toys, fuel, housing

6. Enter statistics into the corps statistical program

7. Attend community collaboration groups meetings in Augusta & Waterville

8. Staff the Waterville Social Services office as needed

9. Supervise the food pantry ministry a. Maintain accurate records including inventory b. Ensure all record keeping is accurate and maintained up to date

10. Encourage families and kids to take advantage of core Salvation Army programs

11. Manage Volunteer and Community Service Worker (court ordered/other) program a. Ensure volunteer paperwork is completed & cleared by the Corps Officer b. Work with Probation & Parole to ensure workers are properly placed at the corps c. Maintain records required

12. Assist Corps Officers as directed with oversight of Christmas distribution process

13. Any other duties as assigned by the corps officers to further the mission of The Salvation Army

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday

• Augusta, ME 04330: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Social work: 1 year (Preferred)
