This is a part-time position, 20-25 hours weekly. The position is anticipated to move to full-time (35-40 hours weekly) at 01/01/24.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Digital Marketing Specialist assists with the creation of marketing strategies, communications and public relations activities, both external and internal. This position primarily presides over asset development and digital media relations for the organization, in accordance with the strategic planning set forth by the Director of Membership & Strategic Marketing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
General Responsibilities:1. Develops and executes the YMCA message, voice, and strategic marketing efforts and materials to meet the goals of the annual budget and strategic plan.
2. Oversees website and social media development and maintenance.
o Ensures the organization’s participation in relevant and current social media platforms, such as Facebook,
Instagram, Twitter and others.
o Collaborates with the Director of Membership and Strategic Marketing to create an annual strategic social media
plan to support and grow programs.
3. Effectively implements media and public relations materials created for our Y.
o Supports marketing communication through multiple channels to a wide range of stakeholders, members,
donors, prospects, community partners, key influencers, volunteers, media and the community at-large.
o Responsible for implementing the direct communication of the YMCA brand across all channels, including but not
limited to print, audio, video, internet, mobile and social media platforms.
o Coordinates media interest in the Y and ensures regular contact with target media as appropriate.
4. Oversees electronic and mobile communications for electronic and mobile communications for programs,
website, social media and other electronic formats.
5. Supports marketing communications through asset creation for multiple channels for a wide range of
stakeholders, including members, donors, prospects, community partners, volunteers, etc.
6. Ensures brand compliance, message clarity, best-practices design and layout, and drives overall consistency of
marketing materials.
7. Returns emails and phone calls related to marketing operations.
8. Attends departmental and project management meetings.

10. Follows emergency procedures and safety precautions. Follow procedures for reporting all accidents, incidents
and hazards.
11. Adheres to all policies, rules, and regulations as outlined in employee handbook and other communications.
Obtain and maintain required training(s).
12. Accepts additional assignments as deemed appropriate, within the scope of the job description.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or communications preferred; related field or equivalent experience required
  • Experience working with electronic files for commercial print production required
  • Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality, and a critical eye in terms of aesthetics required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment required
  • Ability to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Exceptional customer service skills required
  • Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, and Publisher required
  • Nonprofit experience preferred
  • Print and digital portfolio and expertise required
  • 3-5 years of graphic design experience in print and digital formats preferred
