POSITION OVERVIEW

The First Baptist Church of Glenarden is seeking a full-time Social Media Specialist who will be responsible for developing and executing social media communications and marketing strategies to contribute to our promotional and online engagement efforts. This position will report to the Director of Communications.


RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Oversee day-to-day social media campaign management including developing, writing, and editing social media content, improving engagement, and executing paid social media advertising campaigns.
  • Develop actionable strategies to increase following, reach, interactions, and growth on all social platforms.
  • Work closely with our marketing specialist, graphic designer, video editor, ministries, and members to develop content that is not only promotional but that also tells that FBCG story.
  • Evaluate the success of social media campaigns and monitor activity using data analytics tools and share insights to help generate data-driven improvements.
  • Promote brand standards and adhere to editorial style across all social media channels.
  • Research emerging social media platforms, trends, and opportunities on an ongoing basis.
  • Develop procedures and processes to monitor our social media accounts to engage with and respond to our followers.
  • Support our online campus by assisting with setting up and scheduling online campus events and broadcast streams on our various platforms.
  • Assists with the management of our online campus platform by posting content and engaging with members.
  • Assists with implementing technology and maintaining databases to support the online campus.


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Must be saved, have a servant’s heart, and be a member, in good standing or willing to join and become a member in good standing of FBCG.
  • Must be able to submit to authorities as defined by the Pastor.
  • Must possess a gracious, Christ-like demeanor in demanding situations.
  • Must have an understanding and appreciation for the ministry and the mission of FBCG.
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Advertising or related field.
  • Requires minimum three (3) years of directly related experience in developing and executing comprehensive and effective social media strategies.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess hands-on experience and expert-level knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and TikTok.
  • Must be available to work some evenings and weekends, as assigned.
  • Must have experience with Hootsuite, Sprout Social or other social media management tools.
  • Must have experience with Adobe Photoshop, Canva and with video editing applications.
  • Ability to write in our brand voice.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality products on deadline.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams and resolve practical problems.
  • Ability to multi-task between several high-profile projects.
  • Ability to be extremely flexible in an environment that is subject to many “spur of the moment” changes.
