Haymarket Media, Inc. is seeking a Social Media Associate to join the Medical Communications team starting in February 2023. This position is located in our New York City office.

Job Overview:

The Social Media Associate for the Medical Communications team will be responsible for maintaining and growing the audience of healthcare professionals for our social channels, as well as expanding our presence on new and emerging platforms. In this entry-level role, the Social Media Associate will work closely with the editorial and audience teams to produce engaging content and apply social media best practices and tactics to increase followers and engagement for our medical publishing brands.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate across departments to produce content and develop audience engagement strategies for target healthcare audiences based on profession and specialty.
• Analyze web and social metrics and use data to inform and evolve the social media strategies for assigned medical brands.
• Oversee social channel maintenance via updating brand presences regularly and applying audience engagement tactics including social listening.
• Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor pages for feedback.
• Research new channels and content types suitable for healthcare professionals and target audiences.
• Stay up to date on the latest best practices for social media and make recommendations based on the same.
• Assist audience team with paid social media campaigns and research additional social media advertising opportunities.

Skills and Requirements:

• 1-2 years managing social media on behalf of an organization or brand. Experience working in healthcare, pharmaceutical, and publishing industries or for an ad agency preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of the differences between social channels, what content is appropriate for them, and audience demographics of specific channels.
• Hands-on experience with social media management and social listening platforms such as Falcon, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, etc.
• Self-motivated and able to manage time effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Basic understanding of Google Analytics and web traffic data a plus.
