General Description

The Social Media & Marketing Assistant is responsible for Texas Advocacy Project’s social media accounts, website updates, content creation, as well as creating and updating marketing and communications materials of the agency.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Assist with updating agency website, annual report, flyers, brochures, and other marketing materials

· Create, organize and post content for social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn) aligned to TAP’s strategic objectives and calendar.

· Create marketing content (Canva, PowerPoint, etc.)

· Video editing and content creation

· Assist with creating and ordering marketing materials for the agency, including but not limited to promotional items, agency literature, and event signage

· Assist with organizing department materials (office and storage unit)

· Assist with donation pick-ups for the department as needed

· Assist with and attend events as needed

· Other fundraising, marketing, or communications tasks as assigned by the Marketing & Communications Director or Chief Development & Communications Officer

All staff assists in overall office responsibilities including correspondence, working with volunteers, basic office tasks, and other duties as required. Some travel and working irregular hours including evenings and weekends is occasionally required for this position. This is a hybrid position- both remote and in-person. Applicant must be located in the Greater Austin, TX area. Applicant must have reliable vehicle transportation. Business casual wardrobe is mandatory for in-office work.

Qualifications

This position requires confidence and interest around learning digital graphic platforms, and other information technology centered tasks.

· Proficiency in Canva, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites is preferred

· Be well organized, resourceful and persistent and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Be able to learn and work independently while also working well with others

· Physical work including light to heavy lifting may be required

Compensation by hourly wage, commensurate with experience. Texas Advocacy Project is a smoke-free work environment.
