TERRACARE ASSOCIATES
Shop Assistant
FLSA Status: Non-exempt (hourly)
Reports to: Shop Supervisor
Pay Rate: $18-25/hr DOE
Primary Duties:
- Order/receive parts through online vendors
- Pick up parts from vendors
- Clean/Organize/Inventory Parts Room
- Input equipment status/hours/miles into spreadsheet
- Organize and maintain equipment files
- Assist Shop Supervisor with organization/prioritization of repairs
- Look over mechanic timecards and turn in to Shop Supervisor
- Issue and document purchase orders for parts and repairs
- Assist Shop Supervisor with coordinating outside equipment repairs
- Monitor equipment repairs through fleet management systems
- Assist fleet manager with vehicle DOT compliance
- Abide by company guidelines and safety policies.
- Shows up to work each day on time; completes all tasks within time expectations; adheres to company dress code policy; wears clean clothes to work each day; follows inclement weather policy and sick leave reporting procedures
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education
- High school Diploma or GED
Language Skills
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English
- Ability to communicate in Spanish a plus
Mathematical Skills
- Basic
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
- Valid driver license issued by the state where employed, with a record in good standing
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner
- General knowledge of landscape / snow removal equipment
- Highly proficient in computer software (Excel, Word etc.)
- General knowledge of fleet management systems and online parts ordering
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Frequently required to talk, hear, see, sit, stand and walk
- Must be able to see at close vision, distant vision, peripherally, have depth perception and have the ability to adjust focus
- Frequent use of hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
- Frequently required to reach, bend, twist, stoop, crouch, climb and balance
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and seldom lift and/or move up to 50-75 pounds
- Frequently works with mechanical objects and frequently outside in all weather conditions
- Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles
- Frequently exposed to loud noise levels
