Raymond West is looking for an Apprentice Shop Technician to join our growing team!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Learn to perform repairs and troubleshooting tasks under direction of Shop Service Technicians and Technical Trainers.
  • Assist technicians with minor repairs.
  • Attend training classes as assigned.
  • Complete daily time cards.
  • Maintain a clean, neat and professional appearance at all times.
  • Maintain an acceptable driving records as established by the company’s insurance carrier.
  • Willing to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime as necessary.
  • Represent the entire company at all times.
  • Report all accidents to supervisor.
  • Must follow all safety procedures and use good judgment in regards to safety.
  • Perform other specific duties and projects as assigned by the Rental/Shop Supervisor or Manager.
  • Deliver and receive parts when needed.
  • Keep Shop Department clean and organized.
  • Miscellaneous jobs as needed.

  • Self motivated and able to manage time efficiently.

  • Possess basic mechanical skills, including familiarity with hand tools
  • Be able to take direction from training technicians, supervisors and administrative personnel.
  • Must be able to adopt new methods and procedures on a continuing basis.
  • Willing and able to learn new technologies on a continuing basis.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to varying workloads and environments.
  • Willing to comply with employee handbook and Shop Department policies.
  • Willing and motivated to continue education and sills.
  • Willing to assume responsibility.
  • Must be able to drive a motor vehicle.
  • Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid drivers license with no more than the allowable level of points on record.
