Job Title: Senior Refrigeration Service Technician

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Division: The After Market Service (AMS) Team

Reporting to: Service Manager

The After Market Service (AMS) Group is the ultimate turnkey organization providing comprehensive solutions for those refrigeration challenges and needs you have today or might face in the future. Whether your world is a supermarket, multi-store chain with refrigerated products, a convenience store, or any of a wide variety of industrial applications. Start-to-finish development, coordination and installation of refrigeration projects and programs of any size or complexity.

What we are looking for:

Responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of commercial refrigeration systems that are installed in supermarkets, convenience stores, and foodservice establishments.

What you will be responsible for in this role:

  • Respond to customer’s needs as communicated by dispatchers, Lead, and Manager.
  • Advanced knowledge to troubleshooting and perform work on rack systems and self-contained cases – all sizes of HVAC units and VFD operations.
  • Return all equipment to proper operating specifications.
  • Communicate any follow-ups with dispatch, Lead, and Manager.
  • Willingness and ability to be involved with the emergency on-call rotation that includes, holidays, nights and weekends.
  • Adhere to Hill PHOENIX safety program, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, such as customers. other technicians and service staff.
  • Completes all paperwork in a timely manner and adheres to customer documentation procedures.
  • Maintain all packing slips and turn in with paperwork on a daily basis.
  • Maintain truck stock inventory to proper levels.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

What are the basic qualifications?

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 5-7 years in the repair and maintenance of HVAC, Supermarket refrigeration, and EMS systems
  • EPA Certification, EPA 608 minimum types I and II or Universal Tech Certification
  • Valid State Driver’s License

To be a great fit for the role:

  • Must be capable of reading, writing, and speaking the English language effectively. Spanish is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong customer service skills and a can-do attitude are necessary.
  • Ability to utilize computer software for management of work orders, schedules, excel, etc.
  • Full knowledge of Supermarket Refrigeration to include energy management systems.
  • Must have complete set of hand tools required for the job.
  • Must have the ability and willingness to help mentor and train lower level technicians.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with very little supervision.
  • Must understand the necessity for always having a high standard in the following: quality of work, response to customer requests, safety, financial performance, and team morale.

Working Environment:

In performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to talk and listen. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee is required to stand and walk throughout the workday; climb or balance; stoop, crouch and kneel. The employee must be able to climb on ladders, roofs and on occasion in high precarious places. The employee must be able to work in outdoor conditions where temperatures can exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Vision requirements include close, color and peripheral vision. Ability to work with moving mechanical parts, pressurized steam equipment, open flames, heated surfaces, liquids, and risk of electrical shock in damp, humid, or freezing conditions.

While on jobsites, this person must adhere to OSHA safety guidelines and protocols which means this person may be required to wear personal protective devices such as but not limited to hearing and eye protection.
