Position Purpose

Oversee and lead initiatives for the design, development, and execution of the organization’s technical training efforts. Works proactively and collaboratively with divisional leaders to ensure technical training initiatives are designed, executed, monitored, and materials/records are sustainably stored to improve organizational effectiveness.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Consult and build relationships with divisional leaders to create a vision/plan for technical training initiatives for their specific areas of influence. Map out current state, gaps, and ideal state for future growth and success. Create a roadmap for a 3 year plan to move forward.
  • Facilitate meetings with leaders before preparing course materials to ensure a detailed understanding of training subjects and processes. Engage other subject matter experts in the organization to review materials for content and technical accuracy.
  • Assess gaps in current, technical training materials to determine if content/process needs to be updated, enhanced, or recreated.
  • Research new training supplies and materials that enhances productivity.
  • Actively seek current training methods and best practices to facilitate training employees.
  • Coordinate and/or create all curriculum to facilitate technical training programs. (i.e., power points, facilitator manuals, participant manuals, handouts, etc.) Tap into external experts/content when necessary, including industry resources such as IIAR, ASHRAE, retirees, etc.
  • Create, measure, and monitor metrics to validate the effectiveness of all technical, training initiatives.
  • Facilitate/co-facilitate technical training initiatives as assigned.
  • Manage new technologies to develop, manage, and deliver training.
  • Keep abreast of training trends, developments, and best practices.
  • Document and create Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as needed.
  • Leverage and edit SharePoint to support HR and other divisional areas.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assists HR and Bassett’s leaders when there is a need for technical training as they appear in our corporate Hoshins.
  • Implement an approved Learning Management system (LMS) and work directly with the Director of Organizational Development and HR to create (LMS) execution strategies. (i.e., rollout strategies, train the trainer, administration training, etc.)
  • Own the LMS system to ensure that all training and materials are stored in a uniform manner, are accessible to various stakeholders throughout the organization, and are kept up to date and accurate.

Other HR Duties

  • Serve as an HR team resource to support the overall HR initiatives of the organization.
  • Maintains functional knowledge of HR department duties and regulatory requirements, and work collaboratively to sustain a strong and healthy company culture.
  • Answer questions for employees or help trouble-shoot issues that come up when other team members are unavailable.
  • Supports and maintains a safe and Lean/continuous improvement working environment.

Summary of Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • A bachelor’s degree in Training and Development, Curriculum Instruction and Design, Human Resources Management, Business or related area or equivalency.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in training and development (essential).
  • Strong written/verbal communication and listening skills
  • Ability to be objective and work with a variety of behavior styles and personalities
  • Possess high integrity, loyalty, compassion, and maintain confidentiality of all company, employee and customer information
  • Excellent prioritization and organization skills with ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and mediation skills
  • Demonstrate a high level of computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office, Office 365, SharePoint, and related tools.
