We are looking for a talented & dynamic Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to join the Nordson EFD team. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining the highest quality standards for Nordson EFD products manufactured at the East Providence, RI & Norwich, CT facilities. The Sr. QA Manager will develop, implement, monitor, and maintain the quality assurance systems and production processes which are key to creating a high quality & safe product. The individual in this role will make authoritative decisions and recommendations that are conclusive and have a far-reaching impact on the organization. The Sr. QA Manager will oversee the QA team and set team priorities based on business-level metrics and strategic plans.

  • Demonstrate and promote the Nordson safety culture of “Journey to Zero” and that all accidents are preventable.
  • Provide leadership to develop and execute the Quality strategy across EFD’s USA mfg. facilities, ensuring alignment with Nordson’s NBS Next growth strategy.
  • Foster a collaborative team approach for developing processes to assess product and process risk, performing root cause analysis, and implementing effective long-term corrective actions to prevent recurrence of quality issues.
  • Communicate and ensure adherence of the quality policy to all personnel within organization.
  • Set and maintain quality objectives and metrics in line with the corporate quality policy.
  • Develop and initiate standards and methods for product inspection and testing.
  • Plan and oversee the inspection and testing of products.
  • Develop, apply, and analyze statistical process control (SPC) methods.
  • Define and implement strategies to support and track continuous improvements.
  • Develop, monitor, and continuously improve supplier network and their performance.
  • Review data obtained during quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop innovative approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.
  • Play an active role on quality management teams within organization.
  • Investigate customer quality complaints. Determine short and long-term corrective actions.
  • Obtain feedback from customers to measure customer satisfaction.
  • Regularly conduct and document management review meetings.
  • Facilitate and lead ISO Audits, internal audits, customer audits & safety audits. Prepare various departments for auditing, collect and report changes that require implementation.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (engineering or technical field preferred).
  • At least 8 years of hands-on quality assurance, related experience.
  • Must have demonstrated success in a previous leadership/supervisory role.
  • Experience working in an ISO09000 manufacturing environment or equivalent.
  • Experience with quality management systems and quality system audits.
  • Superior problem-solving skills – Root Cause Analysis / Problem Solving Methods (8-D, PDCA, DMAIC)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of advanced Lean principles and methods (Lean/6-Sig, Value Stream Mapping, RIE, Status Display)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills which lead to effective collaboration in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
  • Superior multi-tasker able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize duties to meet deadlines daily.
  • Able to read, understand and interpret technical drawings/documentation.
  • Ability to concisely escalate issues and have difficult conversations.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (experience with MS Project a plus)
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to this position and safety.
  • Working knowledge of Injection Molding equipment, Machined Part equipment and associated processes is highly desired.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
