Scope:

This position is CooperSurgical’s subject matter expert on temperature-controlled (cold chain) logistics and is integral to the success of the of CooperSurgical’s Fertility and Life Sciences portfolio.

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager, Cold Chain Logistics position will understand the regulatory requirements and provide expertise to help develop and implement temperature controlled (cold chain) logistics strategy globally across multiple regions, business units and functions to ensure a cGMP and GDP compliant supply chain. This role will also collaborate globally to select, design, develop, qualify, and implement temperature-controlled shipping solutions and distribution lanes. This role will manage multiple global projects to develop a harmonized, compliant, and cost-effective temperature-controlled supply chain throughout CooperSurgical.

Essential Functions

  • Select and manage CooperSurgical’s cold chain carriers across our product portfolio finding the right balance between cost and service levels
  • Stay current on, and be able to apply, global regulatory requirements for temperature-controlled supply chain (e.g., cGMP, GDP, EUMDR, etc.)
  • Initiate, lead, and implement projects required to efficiently and effectively execute the temperature-controlled logistics strategy globally ensuring cGMP and GDP compliance
  • Design, develop, qualify, and implement cost-effective and compliant temperature-controlled packaging and shipping solutions for lane qualification and validation, aligned with global strategy
  • Develop and maintain a database of temperature-controlled shipping approved by CooperSurgical by temperature range, duration, lane, etc.
  • Bring creative and innovative ideas and keep up to date with the latest innovations in the temperature-controlled supply chain, including but not limited to shipping systems, temperature monitoring including real-time IOT, GPS etc.
  • Perform all duties in close collaboration with internal (business units, regions, sites, DCs, functions, etc.) and external (customers, 3PLs, suppliers, testing labs, etc.) partners
  • Work in conjunction with the Quality organization to properly document changes following the change control process

Qualifications:

  • Broad knowledge of end-to-end supply chain
  • Analytical abilities required to break down complex problems and absorb complex data
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically
  • Interpersonal skills to be a strong and influential team member via collaboration and respect for others
  • Practical expertise with cGMP manufacturing and regulatory regulations and requirements for pharmaceuticals and devices
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced team environment, including business leadership to build alignment.
  • Ability to influence others in sensitive or difficult situations
  • Ability to think critically, and demonstrate troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to function efficiently and independently in a changing environment
  • Agile mindset to constantly adapt to a changing environment

Experience:

  • BS in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related science
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or other life sciences industry
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a global environment, working across multiple cultures, especially collaborating online globally
  • Experience working with global airfreight and parcel carriers
  • Experience setting up and operating high end Cold Chain logistics solutions
  • Strong preference toward experience working in a cGMP and cGDP environment with a good understanding of the Pharma industry & Supply Chain
  • Preferred experience in designing, developing, and qualifying shipping systems and processes for refrigerated, frozen, and controlled room temperature products including IQ, OQ, PQ protocols and reports

Travel: This role may require between 20-25% travel, both domestic and international

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $140,000.00 and $170,000.00. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
