The Tech Fixed Income Trading team manages numerous critical proprietary and vendor-supported applications, used daily by our home office associates and over 15,000 branch teams in the US and Canada to trade, support, and service fixed income trading functions. We are in search of someone who is a continuous learner, forward-thinking, and open to new processes and technologies. What You'll Do:
- Act as a senior level developer, focusing on distributed back-end and batch systems
- Translate business requirements into system design, work directly with Trading business analysts and product owners on requirements, prepare detailed technical specifications, and provide hour or story point estimates
- Complete development tasks with minimal direction to design, code, test, debug, and/or maintain programs.
- Provide system support, including on-call rotation (a handful of times per year), troubleshooting, and resolving complex system issues
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to other associates, including performing code peer reviews, suggesting best practices and following SDLC processes
- Help drive our application modernization including rewriting legacy systems
What You'll Need:
- Minimum 7 years experience in application development and support with a strong focus on back-end distributed systems and batch jobs
- Experience developing new applications and utilizing tech such as Spring batch, job schedulers, messaging systems (JMS, Kafka, MQ, FIX), Linux/bash
- Experience with FIX, Kafka, MongoDB, Oracle DB, trading systems
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, or Agile practices
