Senior Copywriter Job at Christmas Tree Shops
As part of our team of creative professionals, the Senior Copywriter develops persuasive, brand-right copy that positions CTS as a shopping destination that inspires customers to celebrate every season through exciting merchandise assortments and thrilling values. With a thorough understanding of the CTS brand and mastery of the voice, the Senior Copywriter crafts messaging that breaks through marketplace clutter in traditional, social and emerging media. The Senior Copywriter role is a collaborative position interacting daily with design and marketing partners, project managers and buyers/merchants.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops clear, concise, engaging copy based on business and creative goals, marketing insights, channel, competitor research and legal requirements for social/digital, email, print, store signage, website and all related cross-channel marketing projects, campaigns and concepts.

Thoroughly understands and clearly conveys brand voice, including nuances dependent on channel and context.

Interprets and adapts information from a variety of sources and resources including merchants, creative briefs, buyer worksheets and marketing initiative sessions.

Follows competitors and industry trends. Develops and shares with creative and broader team insights adaptable/adoptable to CTS marketing vision.

Collaborates with design and marketing partners through all stages of project development, creating and maintaining synergy, efficiency and communication to meet marketing/business objectives and creative guidelines.

Plans, prioritizes and organizes high-volume workload to meet a multitude of competing deadlines with regular status updates to managers and project partners.

Proofreads own work for accuracy, logic, grammar and consistency; responsible for the quality and integrity of work from concept to delivery. Provides proofreading/editing support for manager, marketing leadership and other CTS divisions as needed.

Demonstrates willingness to take/interpret feedback; multi-task; and meet tight deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.

5 years of retail advertising copywriting experience.

Portfolio demonstrating strategic and creative strength.

Retail industry aware; recognition of competitors’ in-store and marketing tactics with ability to adapt learnings.

Proven strength in problem solving and decision making.

Avid, enthusiastic social media user with working knowledge of all social platforms.

Able to flex, bend and flow in a fast-paced, reactive, high-volume environment.

Adept at quick creative thinking without sacrificing attention to detail.

Proficient in Microsoft Office; Adobe InDesign.

Project management/work management software experience a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The Senior Copywriter will be a balance of work-from-home and corporate office with periodic travel to stores.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
