Summary:


The Senior Compliance Analyst is responsible for policy management, reviewing and researching laws and regulations both on a federal and state level. The role must be able to summarize the impacts of respective laws and regulations on the business and develop plans for implementation of the requirements across the system. Additionally, the Senior Compliance Analyst must conduct audits on its respective implementation initiatives.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Support compliance for the organization from a system level perspective, providing legal research, risk assessment and implementation strategies to obtain compliant outcomes while maintaining business and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as a project manager for various initiatives assigned by the Compliance Director or Executive Director, by summarizing in writing the legal and regulatory implications of the initiative.
  • Provide support to compliant implementation of the initiative by reviewing operational policies, workflows, forms and other documentation.
  • Develop audit standards from regulatory requirements to ensure processes the organization implements supports compliant outcomes. If the outcomes are not compliant, make appropriate changes to the issues giving rise to non-compliance.
  • Coordinate with the Legal team and Hospital Compliance Division, to ensure appropriate implementation of the compliance standards related to initiatives.
  • Coordinate with the Billing & Coding Audit Division to ensure appropriate implementation of the Audit findings.
  • Utilize key metrics and reporting tools related to all department functions.
  • Promote a team atmosphere by treating individuals with respect and honesty and by using direct communication and active listening skills.
  • Participate in external activities.
  • Represent the organization when participating in external organizational meetings.
  • Pursue networking opportunities.
  • Work with vendors to identify applications for consideration, to consult related to interfaces and implementation.
  • Remain updated in the industry trends and options to assess and identify functions, features and refinements.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills that promote timely response to all inquiries and to task completion.
  • Communicate with all individuals in a positive and professional manner.
  • Attempt to resolve individual issues with peers in a positive, calm manner, with a focus on solution.
  • Communicate concerns and provide solutions for same.
  • Attend outside seminars and/or educational classes to promote professional growth.
  • Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude toward parties outside the organization (provider relations representatives, managed care contractors, visitors, vendors, etc.).
  • Comply with the organization’s policies and procedures, including Human Resources, Infection Control, and Employee health policies and programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Training Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or legal related field
  • Juris Doctorate would be preferred but not required
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in policy management
  • Minimum of one (1) years’ experience with project management
  • Policy writing experience is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Must pass pre-employment background and drug screen
  • Must be fully vaccinated for Covid unless approved for a medical or religious exemption
