The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Advertising and Communications Category Specialist to join our team in Mesa, AZ or North Charleston, SC.

Boeing's Indirect Supply Chain organization is seeking a Senior Level Advertising and Communications Category Management (CM) Specialist (Level 4 or 5). This is an individual contributor role that is focused on Category Management and Strategy development with primary focus in the advertising and communications space. CMs are recognized as industry authorities with a depth of knowledge in both the commodity and across the supply base. The CM will partner with enterprise team members and industry leaders to drive the category vision into key supplier activities such as long-term agreements, strategic awards and corporate initiatives. They are focused on developing integrated commodity strategies across Boeing businesses to optimize supplier contracting and further enable business results. Additionally, the CM serves as the primary contact for senior level business partners while also developing and fostering strategic supplier relationships in the market / industry.

In this role, you will have a direct impact on Boeing’s goals by partnering cross-functionally to provide insightful analysis and supplier sourcing/contracting strategy recommendations. You will establish strong relationships with business leaders and influence strategic decision making. CMs have operational skills to handle complex/competing project teams and present compelling recommendations using industry intelligence and data analytics as the foundation for decision-making. You will build industry relationships and monitor/analyze industry/technology trends to proactively find opportunities, reduce cost, minimize risk, protect supply chain/business and enable Boeing competitiveness.

  • Robust oral presentation skills, with the ability to create executive level content utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Strong business insight and communication skills, with the capability to connect and collaborate across teams

  • Ability to handle multiple and contending priorities

  • Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment with a high degree of accuracy

  • Ability to work independently

Position Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Advertising and Communications teams to develop and produce the overall commodity strategy

  • Partner with the Strategic Sourcing & Contracting team for execution of the strategy and implementation of strategic supplier agreements

  • Review project statements of work, providing feedback to the Business Partner and ensuring alignment with the category strategy and industry standards

  • Monitor the overall advertising and communication industry, insuring that the supplier bid lists, negotiation strategies, and contract structure are aligned with the market

  • Find opportunities to streamline and improve the category while leading process improvement initiatives

  • Understand the business goals for the function; ensuring that procurements are aligned with these priorities

  • Meet with leadership to provide awareness or gain approval

  • Develop and maintain key artifacts: supplier playbooks & white papers, Executive talking points

  • Assist with supplier issues and related resolutions

  • Risk, Issue and Opportunity identification and mitigation development

  • Mentor the Strategic Sourcing & Contracting team and helps to remove obstacles

  • Develop contracting and negotiation strategies for strategic sourcing events with key suppliers

  • Ensure key performance indicators are in place to measure performance

  • Communicate supplier strategy, performance, risk and opportunities to team members and senior leaders

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in brand marketing, communications, marketing, and/or advertising

  • 5+ years developing and executing strategies to meet organization objectives

  • 3+ years of experience developing and presenting recommendations to executive level management

  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Products like Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

  • 5+ years of experience managing supplier relationships

  • 3+ years leading cross functional teams

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related fields

  • 5+ years of experience working in corporate communications

  • 3+ years of experience leading process improvement initiatives

  • 3+ years of experience in Procurement and Supply Chain processes

  • 3+ years of experience in supporting the evaluation of outside supplier performance

  • 3+ years of experience identifying and managing risk

Typical Education/Experience:

Senior (Level 4)

Typically 10 or more years’ related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.

Senior (Level 5)

Typically 15 or more years’ related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.

Summary pay range for Senior (Level 4): $106,250 – $143,750

Summary pay range for Senior (Level 5): $124,100 – $167,900
