GENERAL SUMMARY:

Install, program, maintain and repair security alarm wiring and equipment and ensures work is in accordance with relevant codes for Integrated Security Solutions, Inc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, floors, metal doors, concrete and other areas as required.

Examine systems to locate problems such as loose connections or broken insulation.

Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets, then position (strapping), terminate, solder connectors, cables, and wires.

Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals in order to determine materials requirements and installation procedures have been met.

Install, maintain, or repair security systems, alarm devices, and related equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans.

Mount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, and video cameras, and attach electrical and telephone wiring in order to connect components.

Mount raceways and conduits, and fasten wires to wood framing, and concrete walls, using specified materials.

Test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications.

Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features in order to ensure proper functioning, and to diagnose malfunctions.

Keep informed of new products and developments.

Request orders for replacement parts.

Maintain inventory, and report inventory weekly.

Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.

Extensive travel is required for this position. All expenses are paid for or reimbursed by the company. Travel locations vary by assignment.

Ability to drive vans, and trucks with trailers. Identifies, troubleshoots and resolves hardware, software, and basic network related problems encountered by end-users of the network.

Has a basic understanding of IPV4 and how to assign a computer an IP address.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • MUST LIVE NEAR FORT MCCOY ARMY INSTALLATION

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A comprehensive knowledge of integrated security systems is required.

This position requires periodic drug testing, a valid driver’s license, Background Check and ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.

CCTV: Pelco Endura, Pelco Video Xpert, Elk, Honeywell, Europlex, Avigilon Control Center 4.x and/or 5.x, Salient CompleteView. Computer Systems: Windows 7 minimum, Windows Server 2008, SQL. Basic Knowledge of: Office Suite 2010, Adobe Acrobat, DGW Viewer or Draftsight.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Two years of experience related to the job duties of this position is preferred, however, we are willing to send to training for required credentials.

SUPERVISION

Position reports directly to the Project Superintendent and is under his/her general direction.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Communicates effectively in both oral and written communications. Communicates with supervisor, peers, subordinates and other Company staff; working as part of a team contributing to Company goals.

REASONING ABILITY

Job requires attention to detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks. Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts and draw conclusions drawing upon experience, research and input from peers. This position performs multiple job tasks on a daily basis. Discuss unusual or complex problems encountered to the Project Superintendent for input and/or direction. Problem solving ability is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position requires lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent prolonged periods of standing, bending, pulling, twisting, reaching, climbing and standing. Extensive time spent on ladders to include, step ladders and extension ladders.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this position; the employee may be exposed to weather conditions from 100 degrees to below 0 degrees and exposed to various climates and conditions. Wearing of safety clothing and equipment may at times be required.
