AFRL/RQIO is seeking to fill a DO-0080-02 Security Specialist position located at Edwards AFB CA. Pay will be determined by the best-qualified candidate’s abilities and experience. This job announcement will be accepting candidate submissions through 13 Dec 2022.

Position duties include, but are not limited to:

• Liaison with 412 Security Forces Squadron—coordinates site access and visitor control policy, oversees admin of site’s access control list
• Assists RQ-West contractors to define/determine appropriate security programs
• Performs regular security compliance inspections of all industrial facilities
• Monitors/advises special access programs on security requirements on an as-needed basis
• Administers/oversees SSR/GSSO program functions
• Administers processes for all visit clearances to facility and obtains necessary approvals from all government agencies. Coordinates with security officers, provides assistance in all control issues and provide training sessions for appropriate staff
• Manages COMSEC resources

Required Qualifications

• Mastery of a wide range of security specialties, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices
• Experience independently managing security programs
• U.S. Citizenship
• Ability to obtain & maintain a Top Secret Security clearance
• Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification, Security Program Integration Professional Certification, and Special Program Security Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification and AFI 36-2645, Security Professional Certification and Development
• To ensure compliance with an applicable nationwide preliminary injunction, which may be supplemented, modified, or vacated, depending on the course of ongoing litigation, the Federal Government will take no action to implement or enforce the COVID-19 vaccination requirement pursuant to Executive Order 14043 on Requiring Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination for Federal Employees. Therefore, to the extent a Federal job announcement includes the requirement that applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 pursuant to Executive Order 14043, that requirement does not currently apply. • Expert knowledge of and experience in the areas of information security, industrial security, physical security, personnel security, operations security, foreign disclosure, and security administration of RDT&E programs.
• Strong and effective communication skills
• Experience providing oversight of enhanced and collateral security programs ability to identify and employ creative solutions to meet mission requirements while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards
