ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:

  • All security officers will perform checkpoint screening functions such as: Using the Walk Through or Hand Held Metal Detectors, using X-Ray scanners.
  • Must challenge all MDAD Badge holders
  • Issue temporary parking permits
  • Examine credentials and verify information of those entering through Catering checkpoint.
  • Patrol exterior and interior of the Hangar Building
  • Patrol American Airlines aircraft's under maintenance in technical operations area.
  • Must be able to comply with company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
  • All security officers must pass the American Airlines MIA Aircraft Maintenance Checkpoint Screener Training.
  • Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION, LICENSE, and/or CERTIFICATION

  • Must possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have Security D License issued by the State of Florida
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License


SKILL and/or ABILITIES

  • Must pass a criminal background check as well as a drug screen prior to employment
  • Must have schedule flexibility for the weekend, holiday, and night shifts
  • Must be able to stand, lift, bend, push and pull for extended periods of time.
  • Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather and elevated noise levels within the airport environment
  • Must be able to fluently speak, read, and write in English. Billingual a plus.
  • Must be a U.S Citizen
  • The ability to work and communicate with all levels of Operations and management.
  • Should possess a work style and conduct that is approachable and hospitable, while motivated to achieve results.
