Position Summary:

Advanced Computer Learning Company, LLC is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Script Writer at one of four levels for the Medical Center of Excellence (MEDCoE) at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide scriptwriting/multimedia support services encompassing research, storyline development, and character development for video projects while incorporating instructional principles, theories, concepts, and best practices into training materials and products plans.
  • Write, format, update, review, and edit materials for training courses and website postings that include, but are not limited to, technical narratives, student training aids, training manuals, instruction guides, lesson plans, policies, and procedures, webinars, and computer-based training applications.
  • Analyze the needs of the target audience. Write and edit instructional materials, technical reports, and technical documentation using MS Office applications.
  • Coordinate contents of final drafts with originators for the final narrative to ensure content and material is suitable in terms of coverage, balance, and methods of expression and presentation and provide timely feedback.
  • Maintain records of manuscript status, approvals, changes, and corrections during the production process. Maintain all program scripts.
  • Perform various writing tasks ensuring cohesiveness, clarity, flow, appropriate reading level, and compliance with Army and grammatical writing guidelines. Writing assignments include but are not limited to: narration, scripts, storyboards, and documents previously identified.

Experience/Education/Common Task Requirements:

Specific Experience/Skills:

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of a particular area, such as human resources, training strategies, medical systems, computer science, engineering, mathematics, applicable federal policies, regulations, and standards, or the various sciences a plus
  • Experience with Medical programs, training, doctrine, or policy is a plus.
  • Three (3) years of experience and a BA/BS degree or certification.
  • Experience at this level demonstrating responsibility in assisting more senior positions and/or performing functional duties under the oversight of more senior roles.
  • Level I: Up to three (3) years of experience and a BA/BS degree or certification. Experience at this level demonstrating responsibility in assisting more senior positions and/or performing functional duties under the oversight of more senior positions
  • Level II: Four (4) to ten (10) years of experience and a BA/BS or MA/MS degree or certification. Experience at this level reflects performing all functional duties independently
  • Level III: Over ten (10) years of experience and/or a MA/MS degree or certification. Experience at this level includes working on high-visibility or mission-critical aspects of a given program and independently performing all functional duties. May oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the actions of all staff assigned to a specific project/task
  • Level IV: A Subject Matter Expert (SME) with qualifications and/or expertise that are exceptional and/or highly unique. SMEs do not have specific experience/education qualifications but are leaders for a given area of knowledge. SMEs typically initiate, supervise, and/or develop requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex to highly complex programs. Provides strategic advice, technical guidance, and expertise to program and project staff; offers detailed analysis, evaluation, and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for mission-critical challenges/issues; consults with the client to define needs or problems; supervises studies and leads surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions

Common Task Requirements:

  • Prepare reports, memos, letters, forms, briefings, emails, and other documents using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.
  • Make changes to Word documents, modify Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations to enhance their effectiveness, or repair/correct minor errors.
  • Accomplish any training necessary to execute tasks
  • Provide customer service as needed and respond to information requests
  • Operate office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, and phone systems and use computers for spreadsheets, word processing, database management, electronic mail, and other applications.
