Tubular Steel (a member of the Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. family of companies) is currently recruiting for a Saw Operator at our plant in New Haven, MO. These key positions are ground level opportunities requiring no former experience in the steel industry. As a bending fabricator and steel tubing resource, we pride ourselves in acquiring individuals with no prior related work experience but hold a proven track record of employment.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Operate steel cutting saws to meet customer specifications

Responsibilities:

• Operate saws in a safe manner according to the Health & Safety Program;
• Inspect parts to customer prints and QA sheets;
• Set-up saws and change blades/tooling for consistent cutting;
• Operate saws in an efficient and productive manner;
• Wear steel toe boots and hearing protection while working.

Qualifications:

• Ability to read prints;
• Good math skills (geometry, fractions) to convert metrics to decimal;
• Good manual dexterity to make fine mechanical adjustments;
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

• Able to lift up to 35 pounds repeatedly
• Able to walk and stand for extended periods of time
• Able to bend and rotate at the waist many times per hour
• Can climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and reach with hands and arms
• Possess good manual dexterity and balance
• Wear eye protection, steel toe boots and hard hat while working
