Primary mission:

As the Sales Coordinator, you will collaborate between group sales and all hotel departments to ensure quality service and compliance with policies and procedures. You will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the group sales department to achieve customer satisfaction, and meet/exceed revenue and profit objectives. You will assist the Director of Sales & Marketing fielding leads, qualifying business and maintaining the sales and catering managing platform.


SCOPE OF WORK + TEAM

  • Reports to Director of Sales & Marketing

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Answer phones, emails and assist with walk-in inquiries. Prepare reports/information for Director of Sales and Marketing. Assist with developing customer communication both written and verbal.
  • Develop and continually enhance relationships with key corporate, business and travel industry accounts, community organizations and professional associations to maintain high visibility and increase market share.
  • Act as liaison with other departments in the hotel via weekly meetings to provide information in a timely manner and ensure group and catering needs are carried out as contracted. Assist with and complete group resumes and rooming lists.
  • Collaborate with all members of the hotel staff on how to recognize and capitalize on all sales opportunities to increase hotel occupancy and revenue.

Qualifications:

Education: High school graduate or a four-year college degree or equivalent education /experience preferred.

Experience: Prior experience working in hotels or resorts preferred. Preferably in sales, rooms front office , banquets or food and beverage.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the sales/marketing hospitality industry.
  • Experiential knowledge and initiative required for complex problems and efficient sales activities.
  • Must possess highly developed communication skills to negotiate, convince, sell and influence hotel guest(s) and/or corporate clients.
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Opera PMS, preferred

Other Expectations:

  • Abide by payroll policies, procedures (punch in/punch out), Meals and Rest Periods policy and OLS Hotels & Resorts Rules of Conduct.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all hotel safety and security procedures as required maintaining a secure and safe environment for associates as well as guests.
  • Report any unusual occurrences and/or request to the General Manager.
  • Read and abide by all the regulations and rules of conduct stated in the associate handbook.

Travel required: Limited, local travel upon request

Hours Required: Monday thru Friday and times may vary based on business needs. May be requested to work weekends and nights, as needed.
