Roller Operator
Reports to: Foreman, Superintendent
Summary: The roller operator drives heavy rolling machine to compact earth fills, subgrades, flexible base, and bituminous surface to grade specifications preparatory to construction of highways, streets, and runways.
Responsibilities:
Including but not limited to:
- Operates self-propelled steel wheeled, rubber tired, sheep foot, vibratory, segmented, or other type roller to compact earth, subgrade, subbase, shoulder materials, or stone cover on surface treatment.
- Operates smooth and/or padded drum vibratory soil compactors to prepare and stabilize soil and other material.
- May oil, grease, service, and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
- May perform other related duties.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma is an asset
- Mechanical aptitude and having an eye for detail
- Able to read blueprint or other schematics
- Able to communicate with others
- Able to follow safety regulations on the job
- Be a team player
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
