This position will be stationed in Laurel, MD (Part-time/As Needed).

Position Summary

The mission is to provide roleplaying services for training exercises, including practical and final testing exercises which incorporate roleplaying, to prepare personnel with their investigative and protective responsibilities and duties surrounding numerous federal statutes. Role Players are consistently utilized as an integral part in various field training scenarios, including surveillance, arrest situations, searches, witness interviews, subject interrogations, paint gun exercises, and canine scenarios.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities/Description

  • Must be punctual and present for scheduled time, properly attired, groomed, and prepared for assigned role(s)
  • Must be available on a flexible time schedule
    • No work on weekends, holidays, or during Government closings (e.g., emergencies, administrative, etc.)
  • Must remain available during the assigned scenario time period(s)
    • Shall not leave the training area until the conclusion of the practical exercise scenario(s)
  • Must be familiar with the scripts provided and knowledgeable of the assigned roles prior to arrival
  • Capable of assisting in providing various realistic situations/scenarios applicable to investigative and law enforcement skills
  • Must be able to live a role and actively and consistently improvise/ad lib (at times) to meet demands of training requirements and overall objectives of trainings
    • Shall realistically portray subjects without referring to the scripts or notes during the scenario
    • Scenarios may take place in other locations for more realistic settings, if/as needed
  • Capable of being handcuffed in various positions, including standing, kneeling, prone, walking backwards, on their knees, etc.
  • Capable of being searched, including high-risk search (waist area) and same-gender full body search (groin and chest areas)
  • Must be experienced in the use of blank-firing weapons

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must a US citizen
  • Must be able to meet security requirements, if/as required
  • Must be eighteen (18) years or older
  • High School diploma/GED equivalent
  • Working knowledge of English language - 8th grade level or higher
  • Must be physically fit and able to provide a current medical certificate, as required
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
    • May be required to utilize Government vehicles in training exercises
    • Must pass periodic driving record review and evaluation
  • Must be able to provide own transportation to and from the training site
  • Must be able to withstand all types of weather conditions
  • May be required to work with Canines/dogs
  • May be required to complete a basic background investigation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Combination of formal education above high school level with several years of work experience
  • Security clearance not required but preferred
