Responsibilities
Virginia Mason Medical Center, was recognized among the Best Hospitals in Washington state by U.S. News & World Report.
Our 15 bed unit sees a variety of patients with acute medical conditions such as sepsis, digestive disorders (GI Bleeds, pancreatitis, and other gastrointestinal disorders), and heart failure. We also admit pre-kidney transplant patients to help prep them for their surgeries and work closely with our inpatient psychiatry team to see patients with behavioral health disorders. In this unit, you will have the opportunity to provide care to patients with a wide range of diagnoses where you can continue to learn something new every day!
About half of our admissions are under observation status and typically stay less than 24-48 hours, so our nurses are adept at working with fast paced changes and coordinating patient care.

Qualifications
We require:
- Current WA State RN license is required.
- 1 or more years recent RN experience with acute care patients.
- CPR certification is required every two years or as specified by the work.
- Other certifications may be required for specialty areas.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ACLS preferred.
