Operational Reliability Assurance (ORA) is a unique department within Midland Mortgage, a division of MidFirst Bank. ORA partners with departments across the company to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, identify operational risks, and provide a resource for review and analysis of complex servicing scenarios.

ORA is seeking a risk analyst who can successfully perform quality assurance reviews, risk assessments, and conduct control reviews over a variety of complex operational processes to identify organizational risks and challenge existing business strategies. This role will track and disseminate federal and state statutes, rules and regulations, and industry practices that could affect the organization’s procedures and/or other controls. The risk analyst will serve as contact for assigned compliance issues on topics related to federal regulations, and other lending and mortgage servicing insurer/investor requirements.

Position Requirements:

The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fast paced environment and have the ability to manage a wide variety of tasks from beginning to end. Additionally, should be collaborative, congenial, and meticulous with well-developed organizational skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Juris Doctor; or, Business Management with a minor in Accounting or Finance, with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or commensurate experience with degree in business related field, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Previous regulatory compliance or risk management experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to evaluate applicability and draw logical conclusions
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced business software skills, specifically Excel
  • Maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion in performing daily duties is required
  • Ability to influence and motivate others to produce desired results

Experience

Preferred
  • 2 - 3 years: Risk management
  • 8 year(s): Mortgage loan servicing

Education

Preferred
  • Bachelors or better in Economics or related field
  • Bachelors or better in Mathematics or related field
  • Bachelors or better in Accounting or related field
  • Bachelors or better in Finance or related field
