Revenue Cycle Management Specialist
Lorian has been serving patients and healthcare communities within the counties of San Diego, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino, California, and Clark County Nevada for the past two decades. This family owned company is growing, and currently employs a staff of just under 200 including field nurses and therapists, billing specialists, operations personnel, sales and business development professionals.

Job Summary:

The Revenue Cycle Management Specialist works in conjunction with every department within the organization, customers and patients from the beginning of the patients care to the end of the patients care to ensure full payment of services provided. This position requires attention to customer service, basic accounting concepts, and fluid knowledge of Microsoft excel. This position can lead to administrative employment growth for those who excel and exhibit leadership ability.

Responsibilities:*

  • Claim generation
  • Perform claim audit
  • Submission of clean claim via mail and or electronically
  • Payer verification/Authorization
  • Obtain eligibility and authorization from various contracted payers throughout patients care
  • Create Letter of agreements for non-contracted payers
  • Collections
  • Maintain and manage revenue aging
  • Correct claim denials
  • Posting payments and adjustments
  • Cash flow projection
  • Maintain and manage schedule of future payment dates
  • Medical Records management
  • Review patient medical record for missing documentation such as orders or visit notes
  • Communication between clinical field staff for missing or document correction(s)
  • Communication between doctors’ offices, hospitals and facilities for missing or document correction(s)
  • Fulfill medical record request from court ordered subpoenas, doctors offices, patient family, and or facilities

Required Education and Experience

  • Successful completion of high school or GED
  • Minimum typing WPM 40+
  • 2 years office experience and or work history
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft systems (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills, and good phone etiquette.
  • Maintains confidential patient records in accordance with privacy and security standards of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other applicable state laws.
  • Ability to work under stress with interruptions and deadlines.
  • Ability to follow complex instructions.
  • High-energy and detail-oriented.

Additional Desired Qualifications*

  • Familiarity with billing form UB04 preferred.
  • Have knowledge of insurance carrier billing requirements.
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Electronic Medical Record experience (specifically Home Care Home Base)
  • Home Health and or Hospice experience
  • Accounting experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $26.00 per hour
