Retirement Benefit Representative (HR Dept) - REMOTE

JOB SUMMARY:
Provides education and direction to our employees as they pertain to employee benefits under occasional guidance. Primary focus will pertain to the VUMC 403b and 457b plans but will also support our health and welfare plans. Serves as a liaison to benefit vendors. Ensures employee benefit administration complies with regulations and policies.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Primary focus will be supporting all aspects of our retirement plans. This will involve working with internal & extremal partners on the administration of our plans and assisting our employees with resolving issues.
  • Processes and reconciles benefit transactions, invoices, and reports. Develops and executes educational strategies to enhance knowledge of benefit offerings.
  • Provides analysis of plan activity and other audit and compliance matters.
  • Researches and responds to customer questions and concerns.
  • Participates in projects, including annual open enrollment, new or enhanced benefits, and development of communication materials.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES:

BENEFITS KNOWLEDGE (INTERMEDIATE):- Knowledge of the benefits offered by including their administration and rules. Typically, employee benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement, disability, life insurance, and flexible spending.

DOCUMENTATION (INTERMEDIATE):- Ensures that all documentation is complete, accurate, thorough, and compliant.

ANALYTICAL SKILLS (INTERMEDIATE):- The process of identifying, evaluating, interpreting and organizing data. It includes sorting through data to identify patterns and establish relationships for decision making.

PRESENTATION SKILLS (INTERMEDIATE):- The ability to prepare effective presentations in content and function, able to speak competently to the level of the audience.

Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) and 3 years relevant experience
