POSITION SUMMARY:
The Visual Merchandiser is responsible for setting and maintaining visual merchandise presentations
throughout the retail store. This role will align with Company initiatives to change displays that promote
new product launches and/or reflect seasonal changes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and implement visual merchandising in alignment with Company standards and
strategies - Ensure timely compliance with merchandising directives with proper merchandise signage and
ticketing - Support the Ad Coordinator in the planning and placement of advertised product, as well as, the
development of sales, particularly in the Company Top 40 assortment - Support associate learning in merchandising by answering questions and properly demonstrating
Company directives - Understand and execute safety and maintenance standards in alignment with Company standards
Participate in and execute merchandising direction throughout the entire store - Ensure all OSJL customers receive the best possible service on the sales floor and at the point of
sale - Operate a cash register, as needed
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Qualified applicant must be able to perform essential duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Qualified applicant must be able to set and operate a ticket gun, cut case merchandise, count money, lift merchandise weighing up to 35 pounds, sign merchandise, display product on shelves and on the sales floor up to 6 feet, and climb up and down ladders.
- Constant standing, walking, bending, and stooping are required throughout the shift.
- Qualified applicant also must offer flexibility in scheduling to meet business needs.
- The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability necessary to perform these duties.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Prior retail merchandise display experience with OSJ preferred.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Work productively while independent and in a team environment.
- Multi-task with an appropriate level of urgency and tight deadlines.
- Organizational efficiency with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform job functions with a high degree of integrity and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of merchandise planning and presentation to create dynamic displays.
- Store fixture and equipment knowledge.
- Solid written and verbal communications skills. Basic keyboard skills (Email,Google Docs, Qlik).
- Must be able to speak and comprehend English
