DESCRIPTION
Central Nursing Home is looking for a Restorative Nursing Aide to join our compassionate care-giving team! The Restorative Nursing Aide will be responsible for providing restorative and rehabilitative assistance and care to residents/patients in order to maintain/regain physical, mental, and emotional well-being. The Restorative Aide will work with other departments to coordinate and provide restorative nursing care for all patients in the facility individually.
Restorative Nursing Aide Duties/Responsibilities

  • Participate in restorative programs initiated for individual patients.
  • Communicate to the appropriate staff the status of all patients with regard to rehab/restorative needs.
  • Observe and report changes in condition.
  • Attend rehab rounds and maintain restorative nursing progress/documentation records on all patients participating in any restorative program.
  • Assist in communicating with patients/families concerning patient's progress and in care planning conferences.
  • Visit with patients daily and/or as needed to assure that the program is appropriate and productive.
  • Along with the Director of Nursing and Rehabilitation Nurse - set goals and approaches to individual patient's needs.
  • Puts patient care first and ensures that patients and families receive the highest quality of service
  • Other duties as assigned.

Restorative Nursing Aide Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must be a registered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) by the State of Illinois.
  • Experience in a skilled/long-term healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Must be familiar and proficient with using wheelchairs, walkers, canes, lifts, scales and other equipment used in the restorative programs.
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday (reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions).
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of this position.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times, hostile patients within the facility.
  • Must be able to push, pull move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
