Position Summary

FL85 is seeking a highly talented, collaborative, and motivated individual to develop and optimize lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations. The candidate will be a key contributor to the FL85 platform by designing, producing, and characterizing novel LNP formulations for nucleic acid cargos. This is a position with vast learning opportunities in the area of LNP formulation development working in a fast-paced cross-functional team setting. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in an R&D lab environment, as well as good communication and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, production, and characterization of a wide variety of nucleic acid LNPs
• Perform routine analytical testing to identify and characterize novel LNP formulations
• Produce LNP formulations to support both internal research and partner program in vitro and in pre-clinical animal studies
• Collaborate with scientists across the organization to advance company objectives
• Thoroughly document results in electronic lab notebooks and present findings to cross-functional teams
• Assist in maintaining general laboratory functionality including ordering and receiving lab supplies

Qualifications

• BS/MS in life sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, chemical engineering, bioengineering, or related discipline with 0-2 years of academic or industrial experience
• Experience producing and characterizing nucleic acid LNPs is strongly desired
• Experience with high throughput screening of LNPs would be a plus
• Experience with a variety of LNP process techniques and equipment scales would be a plus (mixers, pumping systems, TFF, etc.)
• A strong team player with the ability to work both independently and on cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Ability to troubleshoot complex problems and demonstrate problem-solving skills
• Comfortable delivering against challenging commitments
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
